Project Description: St. Christopher's Church & Olive Branch Community Trust Branding

Client: St. Christopher's Anglican Church

Project Overview:

With the arrival of a new vicar at St. Christopher's Church, Daniel Price Art & Design was approached to rebrand and form a new logo for the church and the associated community trust.

Design Challenge:

The new logos had to be representative of revitalized initiatives of community outreach, as well as being representative of the church's identity and faith that caters for a large variety of people. This is one of the largest churches in the Avonhead area, so the logos developed were going to become a significant presence in the community.

Creative Solution:

Working very closely with the vicar at the time. A primary focal point was landed on in utilizing and representing the unique stained glass window that provides the backdrop for their church, and is beloved by the parishioners. Using tohis to also represent 'rays' of community outreach, paired with an abstract figure reaching up and out of the logo. The negative space also forms a cross, representing their faith.

The Olive Branch Community Trust was represented with the physicality of olive branches the form its namesake, along with a dove. Again, the dove being a common symbol of the Christian faith. The branches forming the wings was to be representative of the Trust helping 'give wings' to the church's community projects and outreach.

Project Results:

The logos are still used presently since 2020 and have been received well by the parish. The logos persist as the face of the church. As part of the rebrand, the logo was also adapted and incorporated into signage for around the site too (shown).
